Announcing access to Ancestry Library Edition

Thanks to a partnership with KDLA, KYVL membership now features access to Ancestry Library Edition. 

Ancestry Library Edition brings the world’s most popular consumer online genealogy resource to your patrons. Answers await everyone — professional or hobbyist, expert or novice, genealogist or historian – inside the more than 7,000 available databases. Unlock the story of your family with sources like censuses, vital records, immigration records, family histories, military records, court and legal documents, directories, photos, maps and more.

To access Ancestry Library Edition, head to your library and visit ancestrylibrary.proquest.com/aleweb/ale/do/login.

• Access begins immediately and will run through September 2020.
• Use is permitted in the library only; remote access is not allowed. Some exceptions apply for academic libraries. Learn more at kyvl.org/toolbox/proquest.
• Guides, posters and other materials are on our Librarian's Toolbox page under ProQuest.
• Ancestry Library Edition can be found in our A-Z database listing or on the ProQuest page.
• If you reach a login screen from within your library, library staff is asked to confirm your library's IP ranges on file with KYVL:
  • Log into the KYVL Member Portal.
  • Click View and update profiles.
  • Under My Profile, select Your Organization.
  • If IP ranges need updating, complete the Request IP Change found under Member forms.

• If your library does not have a static IP range, please contact KYVL at KYVL@ky.gov or 844.400.KYVL.

For KYVL member libraries already subscribing to Ancestry Library Edition, ProQuest will issue credits for unused portions of existing, direct subscriptions to be used for the purchase or renewal of any other ProQuest product.
