Kentucky Virtual Library courier service facilitates cost-effective resource sharing among libraries within the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Through the courier service, libraries exchange library and instructional materials, including interlibrary loans and programming materials from the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives.These shared resources serve as a complement to KYVL's electronic databases.
A master agreement between the Council on Postsecondary Education and Stat Courier of St. Louis, MO, governs KYVL courier service. Funding is provided through the Council on Postsecondary Education, with support from the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives and participating KYVL member institutions.
KYVL courier service is provided by Stat Courier of St. Louis, MO, online at stat-courier.com. Stat Courier has provided statewide library courier service since 2007. States and consortia served include MOBIUS (MO and IA), Georgia PINES and regional systems, and Jefferson County and Pikes Peak library systems in Colorado.
Participation in KYVL’s courier service is open to public and academic libraries that purchase access to KYVL’s core database collection. Eligible institutions include:
