The Kentucky Digital Library is built to enhance scholarship, research and lifelong learning by providing access to shared digital archival collections in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
KDL is a collaborative initiative of the Kentucky Virtual Library (KYVL) and other Kentucky institutions. KDL is currently being reconstituted on a new platform at kdl.contentdm.oclc.org. The legacy site, online at kdl.kyvl.org, is slated to be taken down by October 1, 2019.
KDL is currently housed at the University of Kentucky, where the servers that currently host the Kentucky Digital Library are scheduled to be decommissioned as early as 2018. If your institution currently has content in KDL at the University of Kentucky, UK will work with your institution to get you a copy of your content. A spreadsheet with data regarding institutions with content hosted at UK is located at kyvl.org/kdlcontentreturn.
The next version of KDL will be hosted on OCLC's CONTENTdm platform. A sandbox / transitional version of the new KDL can be accessed at kdl.contentdm.oclc.org.
For Kentucky libraries and other institutions interested in participating in the new KDL on OCLC's CONTENTdm platform, KDL Refresh was held October 27, 2017 (agenda below).
