About content in other CONTENTdm instances

KDL member institutions with content in a CONTENTdm QuickStart or other subscription can easily make that content discoverable in kdl.contentdm.oclc.org by migrating the content and or the metadata to the new KDL. Instructions are below.

Migrating from another CONTENTdm instance

OCLC makes migration of content from an existing CONTENTdm QuickStart or other subscription easy. Just follow these steps:

  • Institution must sign and submit a KDL MOA.
  • Complete the CONTENTdm to Kentucky Digital Library Request Form.
    • For confirmed KDL members, KYVL will forward the request to support@oclc.org, copy to original requester, asking that the copying process be completed.
    • OCLC will notify institution and KYVL that the copying has been completed.
    • Upon receiving a list of migrated collections, KYVL will assign full rights to institutional adminstrator(s).
    • Institution will review the collections and update metadata in keeping with KDL requirements, including adding institution name from KDL controlled vocabulary.
    • Upon notification from the contributing institution, KYVL publish these collections.
  • Institution will work with OCLC to manage institution's original / existing subscription.
