Sharing this wonderful news from the Kentucky Department of Education regarding public K12 access to KYVL.org resources.
The Kentucky Virtual Library is a consortium of libraries and institutions across Kentucky which provides access to thousands of full text magazines and journals, 55,100 primary source documents, articles, encyclopedias, and over 217,000 eBooks. The Kentucky Department of Education will be leveraging ARP ESSR 3 federal funding to provide KYVL access to EVERY public K-12 school in Kentucky for at least the 2021-2022 school year, and possibly for an additional 1 or 2 years.
KDE will be reimbursing schools who continue or begin KYVL membership. Districts can get an estimate of membership costs using this tool. Requests for an invoice should be sent to KYVL@ky.gov
Once your district has paid for the 2021-22 KYVL invoice, you will submit your proof of payment through an application process and funds will be reimbursed in a timely manner.
District Steps:
Training for in-person PD or online can be requested at no charge. Contact KYVL@ky.gov to schedule any trainings. Video tutorials and presentations are available on the KYVL YouTube channel.
