Which reports?

Move to COUNTER 5?

  • EBSCO and ProQuest are COUNTER compliant; other KYVL vendors are not
  • Non-COUNTER searches / sessions / full-text are widely available (all current KYVL vendors except LEL) and satisfy many member-type reporting needs
  • KYVL has been reporting these for years
  • Some COUNTER 3 reports being used
  • COUNTER 5 reports investigations, allowing side-by-side comparisons of full-text and I & A databases
  • Are minutes spent searching available? Only in Gale for KYVL?
  • COUNTER reports may provide better data integrity?

What is a database?

  • What vendors report stats on
  • Individual libraries make different calls
  • KYVL A to Z list is counted by KDLA
  • Explora is on A to Z but not reports
  • Research starters are on reports but not A to Z
