Database updates for the new year

Following analysis of nearly 400 responses to KYVL's collections survey earlier this year, KYVL is currently pursuing contracts for the following slate of databases for the year ahead:

Ongoing renewal of:

• Britannica databases
• EBSCO databases, NoveList and LearningExpress Library
• OCLC FirstSearch / WorldCat Discovery
• ProQuest Alt-Press Watch and Career and Technical Education databases

Continuation through June 2021 of:

• Ancestry Library Edition, through partnership with Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives
• Gale Opposing Viewpoints
• TeenBookCloud

Addition through June 2021 of:

• EBSCO's Academic eBook Subscription Collection (continuation of currently available courtesy access)
• EBSCO's K-8 eBook Collection (continuation of currently available courtesy access)
• TumbleBookLibrary for K-6

Discontinuation of:

• Scholastic GO!
• Courtesy Britannica and EBSCO databases not listed above

Courtesy resources ending August 2020:

• AudioBookCloud
• RomanceBookCloud
• TumbleMath
