ACT Test prep online and mobile app:
KYVL has ACT test prep resources through EBSCO's LearningExpress Admissions Test Prep module. Work through a tutorial or go straight to a practice test, or the full simulation. Download study guides and vocabulary flash cards. [Also AP exam prep!]
If you have not used LearningExpress before, you MUST register for a free account to track and save your progress. Once registered, you can sign in with Google in the future.
You can find tutorials for each subject area, pre and post tests, practice tests, ebooks that you can download anywhere as many times as you need to, and a full ACT simulation.
And there is a mobile app. Search for "EBSCO LearningExpress" and install to your phone or device. [Note: the mobile app does not have the tutorials.]
Before using the mobile app, register for a LearningExpress® account through your library’s website with a working email.
A patron registering for an account from the web version of LearningExpress, via your library link, places their future usage statistics with your library [rather than KYVL’s parent account].
Go to your app store, search for: EBSCO and select EBSCO LearningExpress® in the results
Load the app and log in. [Note: Tutorials are not included in the app but practice tests, flashcards, ebooks are included. Job & Career Accelerator does not include the resume, letter templates nor the job searching.]
Progress is saved and tracked. Download ebooks, flashcards and more to your Mobile Center in the app.
For librarians:
KYVL can provide your library with unique direct links for LearningExpress®. You place these on your website. Email KYVL@ky.gov for your library specific links.

A patron would go through your library-specific URL for LearningExpress® and register for an account under your library name.

Follow KYVL.org/catp for example. Click the Signin/Register link then click the Register button.
IF they are using your library’s link from your website, your library should be listed beside Your Institution is: Marion County Public Library [for example].
MARC records:
All of the content types in LearningExpress® will be listed in your catalog - tutorials, practice exams, flashcards, etc.after your load the MARC records. A direct link to the item will be in the 856 field. Over 200 ebooks will be identified in your catalog as well.
Contact KYVL@ky.gov for your auth token [the access key needed for retrieving your library’s MARC records].
To access and download MARC records, open any LearningExpress® center. Log into LearningExpress® and choose Administrators and Librarians at the bottom of the page. The MARC Access Key is the auth token KYVL will provide to you. Choose all three options: LearningExpress Library Base Platform, Job & Career Accelerator, and Computer Skills Center.
Regular updates to MARC records is recommended once a quarter. You can download just those MARC records that have changed.
