Congratulations to Zach Underwood, Systems and Web Services Librarian at McCracken County Public Library, who submitted the winning design for the new Kentucky Digital Library logo. The logo contest called for a design that captures the digital and collaborative nature of KDL, and represents the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Zach's work at McCracken County Public Library includes web design and development for the library's website, design of printed marketing materials and work on the library's digital collections site. Zach also serves as system administrator for the library's ILS.

In preparing a design for the logo, "I knew I wanted to use the KYVL colors to provide continuity with the overall organization," Zach said. "The Kentucky Digital Library brings together individual collections from around Kentucky, so the logo represents these different pieces coming together as one state collection."

Additional work in preparing the logo for publication was done by Melissa Abney, graphic designer for Eastern Kentucky University Libraries, through the generosity of EKU Libraries.

Thanks to Zach and Melissa. We're excited about KDL's new look!
